End of Term Concert at Isledon Road
The Performance Skills Workshop is a regular class taking place every Thursday (11am) at Isledon Road MHRC. We ended the Winter term with a concert for the whole centre, two songs performed by each member of the class backed by the MfP Band and photographed by Tony Gay from the Islington Gazette. Many thanks to Jon Dean and Aimee Brannen and Tony for the help and coverage they’ve given us this year.

Tea Dances at the West Library

Two articles in the local papers, a regular crowd coming each month, and two or three local care homes busing people in on a regular basis. We’re developing the Music for People “Total Entertainment” concept from this event: Records, live music and guest spots by local entertainers.

More Concerts at Family Mosaic
Family Mosaic want more concerts at 2 of their projects in Hackney. “There were no Shirley Bassey hits but they were great anyway.” “Great songs and a good afternoon…..I didn’t mind missing the TV for the afternoon!”. “Missing TV…” for us – there’s no greater accolade!

New Tea Dance At Drover’s
Our first Tea Dance at Drover’s took place on 11th April. A good start with a good crowd and maybe the oldest Tea Dancer in Islington at 97 years young. Jackie Mariner, manager was really pleased with the way everything went and we’ll be back the second Wednesday of every month.

MfP begin Publishing Company
Latest scheme from Music for People. We’ve started a music publishing company to look to place user’s songs and music in the film, TV and music industries. We’re looking for someone in the music industry who would like to help us, placing, tracing and producing product.
